When and Where to Explore

Summer Riding

Summer riding from Bear River Lodge gives you direct access to hundreds of miles of scenic UTV and off-road trails throughout the Uinta Mountains. Riders can climb to high viewpoints like Elizabeth Ridge, explore peaceful areas around Lym Lake, and wind through forested trails near the West Fork of the Blacks Fork River. Many routes pass alpine meadows, hidden lakes, and historic cabins, making it easy to stop for photos, fishing, or a quiet break in the mountains. With cool mountain air and trailheads starting right near the lodge, it’s one of the easiest and most enjoyable ways to spend a full day exploring Utah’s backcountry.

Winter Riding

During the winter months, Bear River Lodge becomes a hub for some of the best snowmobiling terrain in the region. Riders can explore wide open meadows near Gold Hill, cruise groomed trails toward Whitney Reservoir, or carve through powder-filled trees around Boy Scout Mountain. The area receives consistent snowfall and offers terrain for everyone, from smooth, scenic rides to deep-powder play areas. Best of all, many rides begin right at the lodge, allowing you to unload once and spend the entire day exploring fresh snow across the beautiful the Uinta.
